Hi, this is Bob Waggoner. I created TripleRing Productions and along with my wife Gwen, co-owner Guy Vesco, event director and new partner Gina Evans we plan to bring an element of cycling that I really enjoy to Butte and Southwest Montana.TripleRing Productions is a tax-exempt, 501c3 non-profit educational association. Donations to TripleRing Productions are generally tax deductible. TRP's tax identification number is 27-1221289.
Presently Montana has a pretty good Mountain bike and Road bike racing series, but not much in the way of endurance Mountain bike racing. My goal is to change that. I have spent the last ten years racing 24 hour events in the US and Canada, I'm looking at bringing that to Montana as well as 100 mile endurance racing.
This site is designed to make contributing information as easy as possible – please make comments. I'm keen to get in touch with anyone who might be able to help add new content or edit/ update material.
Online entries
Sportsbase Online is up and running for those that want to register on line. The online registery doesn't allow jersey or t-shirt size choises so sometimes it could be better to use mail in regestery.
Thanks,
Bob
Utah and the Butte 100
MTB endurance racers from Utah far out number entries for the the Butte 100 as of now. For all of you that have watched the race entry fees for races around the country go up, I don't think you will see that happen here, at least not this year. I really can't see that happening next year. The Butte, Montana area has a group of contributors that helps fund this race and the one that has always been a big contributor is Dr. Pete Sorini. If you know him or meet him tell him thanks. This years race will be covered by Butte TV news station KXLF, this should attract more interest in race sponsorship. So thanks racers and contributors, your help and entries will keep the entry fees down for quite some time.

Entry Fees
The Butte 100 and 50 are great races in great country, and priced very reasonably. I'm also doing the Cascade Cream Puff again this year, which is another terrific race, but at $275 and 250 racers, it's gotten awfully expensive, and sounds like it will involve a lot of "company" on the trails.
Keep it up, and yes, thanks to Dr. Sorini. My Wife went to high school with him, and said he was a good guy back then, too!
Thanks, Bob!
Tom
50 Milers
This year '2010' we will be giving out age catagory awards for both 100 & 50 mile options. Also the 50 mile entries will not get a jersey with registration but can purchase one at cost, which will most likely be around $40. It is important to be registered by June 1st. to have that jersey on race day, otherwise it will be ordered at a later date with a possible price increase.
Thanks,
Bob

Profile and Map for the Butte 100 2009
Bob,
There are two of us in Bellingham Washington that have been training for the Butte 100 for 2010. We are looking for some training guides, presently we have been using profile maps from the 2007 race, is there anything for 2009 or does anyone have the route plotted on google earth that we might get. Thanks
Bob
2010 Map
At this time on this web site under Butte 100 there are maps showing course route but no profile. The routes shown are on USGS topo maps. There is approximately 18,000 ft. of elevation gain in the 100 mile and 8,000 ft. in the 50 mile. We have GPSed most of the routes but need to place it all on Google Earth. Hope this info will help for now!
Thanks,
Bob W.
2010 Map
Bob Thanks,
We reviewed both course route and USGS topo, we found it difficult to put the two together to create some comparable training rides here in Washington. We will continue to using the profile from 2007 and look forward to the route on Google Earth. Thanks again.

100 Mile Profile
Bob and Bob,
I have a reasonably accurate version of the profile for the 2009 100-mile course that somebody made me in response to this question last year. I believe he just traced the course on a topo map, so it isn't perfect, but certainly would help with training. The biggest thing I got from it was that once you hit the 90-mile mark, the course wasn't even close to done with you!
I would be glad to email it to anybody that is interested.
